There was an attack on an election rally in Parwan province, north of the capital Kabul, where President Ashraf Ghani was due to talk, and 26 individuals were killed. Another blast murdered 22 individuals near the U.S. embassy in central Kabul.
The Taliban said that both assaults were behind them. The group continued a concerted campaign of bombing while participating in peace talks at the same moment. But previously this month, US President Donald Trump defined the Taliban talks as “dead.”
