Birmingham school-girl, Daisy-May Demetre, is all set to create history as she becomes the first child double amputee to walk at the prestigious New York Fashion Week.
The 9-year-old Daisy-May was diagnosed with a birth defect called fibular hemimelia as a result of which her legs were amputated. Her parents were shocked to learn from the doctors that their child would have no legs. To give her a better quality of life, they allowed doctors to perform double amputation when she was just 18 months old.
Young Daisy is a gymnast and a model. As a model, she has worked with Nike and Matalan and represented Lulu et Gigi at London Kids’ Fashion Week. On 8th of September, Daisy will walk the ramp at New York Fashion Week.
