Uk’s impending exit from the EU, the backdrop of US-china trade war and Amazon Fires being the main concerns highlighted before the summit
“A difficult test of unity and solidarity,” exclaimed Donald Tusk, President of the European Council; due to deep divisions over a range of issues including trade and climate change.
The summit is said to begin on Saturday in the French Coastal Town of Biarritz with some of the world’s key industrial countries participating in the annual gathering.
The three-day summit is taking place against the backdrop of the escalating trade war between USA and China, the growing tension between USA and Iran over Tehran’s nuclear program, Britain’s impending exit from the European Union and global concern over the catastrophic fire ravaging across the Amazon rain forest in Brazil.
Tusk appeals for unity and cooperation among the world leaders.”It is increasingly difficult, for all of us, to find a common language and the world needs more of our cooperation, not less” he said.”This may be the last moment to restore our political community.
