Saaho just got released this Friday and definitely it’s not a great morning for the team. This big-budgeted film failed to impress the critics and also the viewers. The ratings were also not praiseworthy. After Baahubali this was the next big movie for South Star Prabhas. But the results are definitely going to be totally oppugnant.
With all not so good comments and reviews for Saaho another feather of culpability added to their hat when Actress Lisa Ray took Instagram to share a post pointing fingers to the creativity of the makers. She stated that the makers of Saaho have just copied an artwork of a contemporary artist, Shilo Shiv Suleman without his consent.
She has posted the original artwork with the one in the film by collaging them. The artwork has been picturized in a song in the film “Baby won’t you tell me” featuring Prabhas and Sraddha. The background exactly looks like the artwork of Shiv Suleman.
Lisa has thrown a striking shot on the Saaho team through her post on Instagram ” What is creativity? What is art? Where does it come from? We know what it is not. It’s not your social status. It’s not your job title. It’s not your appearanceIt’s not even the image you see in the mirror. Creativity and its sister Art reach us from the sweet spot of the universe- the soul you might say- through the mystery. But I do…That’s why when something dishonorable happens, we need to stand up and speak up. To hold up a mirror to these makers to make them understand THIS IS NOT RIGHT. It’s come to light that big-budget film production has ripped off one of Shilo’s original creations. This is NOT inspiration but blatant theft. In no world, is this acceptable. The production did not contact the creator, ask her permission nor offer to collaborate or offer a credit. Nothing. This is not right.I believed the Hindi film industry was evolving necessarily… How would you feel if a thief slid into your home and took away your most prized possessions?
Your heart. Your soul. And your livelihood.”
