Taskin Ahmed secures a place in the 15-member squad announced by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The paceman last played a test match back in 2017, although was initially included in the squad for the New Zealand tour earlier this year but was later dropped due to his left ankle injury.
While Taskin walks in, the left-arm seamer, Mustafizur Rahman is not included in the list. Minhajul Abedin Nannu, the BCB chief selector said, “Mustafizur got a bit injury in his back during the conditioning camp. Thursday an assessment has been done. As we’ve got a one-off Test, we didn’t want to take any risk with him”. He further added, “We’ve so many Tests ahead. We’ve tour in India. We’ve got a triangular series of white-ball. He has been given rest as we didn’t want to take any risk”.
Along with Taskin, Mosaddek Hossain and Soumya Sarkar make a comeback too while Fast-bowlers Syed Khaled Ahemd, Shafiul Islam and Tamim Iqbal are dropped from the squad.
