Union Defence Minister has embarked on the 2 day visit to Japan to hold their first Foreign and Defence Ministrial dialogue (2+2) before Japan-India Annual summit for ‘Cooperation towards Peace ans Prosparity of Indo-Pacific region’. Mr. Rajnath Singh met Mr. Takeshi Iwaya and talked about thr stability of Indian and Pacific oceans and security in Indo-Pacific region. They also discussed about the multilateral exercise with Japanese Maritime Defence Force (JMSDF) and Indian Navy. The talks about ‘Malabar 2019’ were also brought up, this is a trilateral maritime exercise with India-Japan-US. India has participated in many Defence force exercises with japan and are willing to do more. Mr. Singh also met the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
