Unmukt Chand to leave Delhi and join the Uttarakhand team for Ranji Trophy. In 2012, India won the Under 19 World cup under his captaincy. After being dropped quite frequently from the Delhi team, Unmukt grabbed the opportunity to play and lead the Uttarakhand team. Chand thanked Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) in a heartfelt letter which said, “The journey from colony parks to the celebrated Ferozshah Kotla has been very special but then we are too ordinary to be having control over the plans of the divine existence.” He also wrote how excited he was with his new role in the new team in his tweet saying, “It also feels great to be getting an opportunity to be representing Uttarakhand, the state I have a deep connection with. The challenges of setting up a new unit of fresh talented players excite me and it feels great to contribute towards it.”
The stylish right-handed batsman has so far played 60 first-class matches and has scored 3184 runs. He has last played for Delhi 2017. It will be interesting to watch him play for the Uttarakhand side in 2019-2020 season.
