The White House has limited access to transcripts of some of the calls made by President Donald Trump to overseas officials, US press report. Officials said notes on calls to rulers including Vladimir Putin of Russia and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia had not been treated as normal.
They claim heavily curtailed helpers who saw them in an attempt to prevent leaks. The White House has not commented on the allegations so far following the beginning of an investigation into an impeachment.
Democrats launched the inquiry after a July phone call transcript revealed that President Trump had pushed President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine to investigate Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.
The White House verified on Friday that the transcript was positioned for extremely classified information in a separate system.
